David Muise is a singer song writer originally from New Waterford, Cape Breton. In hisyounger formidable years he followed his father Yogi around as he performed with the Men of the Deeps. Those types of experiences solidified David’s love and passion for songs that told stories. With other musical influences like Harry Chapin, John Prine, and James Taylor it is no wonder that his songs take the listener in a journey. Since the release of his debut solo CD called “The Journey” he has been busy playing at various charity events, Jamborees, and song writers’ circles, which included playing on one of the Stan Fest stages. Most recently David has released a full length CD with his musical partner Louise Brooking called “Catch the Wind”
David is also the Author of a children’s book called Archie the Pit Rat Hero published by Breton Books in 2007. David and illustrator and friend Louise Brooking travel the province giving presentations to elementary schools about writing and illustrating. This is a program funded by Writers in the Schools, through The Writers Federation of Nova Scotia.
Other musical interests include performing in Pipe and Drum bands. David is a former member of the Pipes and Drums of Clan Farquharson and was a member of the Colchester Legion Pipes and Drums during their tour in Holland for the 65th Anniversary of the Liberation of that country from WWII.
David lives in Grand Lake with his wife Marian, daughter Winter, and three boarder collies Doc, Dublin and Kayla.
